| Menasha Packaging’s Folding Carton Group – formerly Neenah Printing in Neenah, Wisconsin – has transformed their business from a commercial printing to a folding carton packaging operation in anticipation of the changing demands of the marketplace. W. H. Leary was honored to play a small part in Menasha Packaging’s success delivering high-quality folding cartons in their quick-turn, short run niche markets. Their recently purchased Heidelberg Diana folder-gluer was installed with an LS-9.16 Array™ Series system complete with Monet operating software. “The Monet™ system is a newer software package that allows you to store jobs and do quicker changeovers,” Tim Castor, Operations Manager explains. “I have seen one changeover on the glue system in less than 30 seconds. We now provide better than average industry changeover times on the glue system." | |

| Packrite LLC in High Point, NC, knew that when they opened their plant less than two years ago, they had to separate themselves from other folding carton and fluted carton plants. Michael Drummond, President, has noted that their success has come in part to implementing their “folding carton mentality using a corrugated grade paper.” Packrite, LLC laminates and die cuts on all of Bobst’s newest machinery, often specified for folding cartons. This gives them the ability to deliver the same precision, capabilities, features and product packaging demands of the folding carton industry. After the folding cartons and fluted cartons are die cut, they are folded and glued on the new Bobst Masterfold folder gluer equipped with a Leary combination gluing and detection system. When asked why he chose Leary to outfit the brand new Bobst Masterfold first ever installed in the US, Drummond commented, “simplicity, dependability and ease of use.” A Leary system was also a simple choice for Packrite’s VP of Manufacturing, Hubie Beck, who was familiar and happy with Leary systems in other plants where he has worked. The LS-916 system came complete with three glue application valves, glue detection, bar code detection and bottom glue pot detection all tied into the Bobst Masterfold CUBE ejection system. The installation of the Bobst Masterfold and Leary LS-916 system was fast and seamless, completed in enough time for Packrite to run a job on that first Saturday to help get a potential customer out of a bind. Drummond described his level of service received from Leary as “beyond reproach.” Packrite, LLC showcased their operation at their open house in January of 2009, and has continued to see success at their plant.
