Controllers

Leary’s series of detection controllers range from the most versatile to the simplest of units. Each controller comes equipped with our patented software technologies which ensure that you deliver a defect free carton and help increase up-time.

  • SureScan™ technology guarantees 100% inspection of all cartons.
  • GapPro™ technology measures and maintains the distance between cartons to increase production and prevent jams.
  • RejectTrak™ technology  takes the human element out of production and tracks the exact single carton that has the defect and rejects only that single carton.
Please review the descriptions of each and decide which controller best fits your needs.

LS-4 Detection Controller

This controller has the latest in detection technology from Leary. It has simple to use software and allows for quick and efficient make readies.

This LS-4 Detection controller is available in a 4 or 8 pattern version, with a separate input for Barcode detection, and a large 15” remote color touch screen for easy viewing.  Each pattern has one trigger assigned to it to ensure that each failure or defect is properly identified.  The LS-4 controller is equipped with SureScan™, GapPro™ and RejectTrak™ technologies.

The LS-4 has expandability which allows you to add inspection stations in the future. Simply send us a sample of your carton or detection requirement and Leary will send you a sensing solution to be plugged into your LS-4 controller. You are then ready to run quality cartons.

LS-9.16 Detection Controller

Much like the LS-4, this controller has the latest in detection technology from Leary, but is even more expansive. The LS-9.16 Controller comes standard with SureScan™, GapPro™ and RejectTrak™ technologies.

Select the LS-9.16 if your requirements are 9-16 detection inputs. A separate input for barcode detection is standard. This controller also has a large 15” remote color touch screen for easy viewing.  Each pattern has a trigger assigned to it to ensure that each failure or defect is properly identified.

What makes this system powerful is its ability to add numerous inspection stations if needed.  There is no detection / inspection need for your carton that cannot be successfully monitored. To expand your system, simply send us a sample of your detection requirement and Leary will send you a sensing solution to be plugged into your LS-9.16 controller. Your quality detection can begin.

SureScan™ technology guarantees 100% inspection of all cartons at every inspection station.

Monitors all triggers & encoders for every carton that passes.

If a trigger fails to output or encoder failure is in temporary stall; you can choose to shutdown the gluer or eject that single carton.

GapPro™ technology monitors and displays the actual gap in between cartons in real-time.

You can set the narrowest distance between cartons and increase production (linear board foot / hour).

GapPro™ also helps prevent Jams when running small gaps and allows for quicker, more accurate on-the-fly feeder adjustments.

Compatible with all gluers fitted with a servo driven feeder.

Unlike shift register methods for rejection of faulty product, the W. H. Leary Company was the first to patent a new method of rejection.

This technology tracks rejects from many different detection stations and removes the exact failure from the line, without disturbing in-line manufacturing.

Leary also ties into your compression section interrupting the belt when a certain number of cartons have been rejected.

This rejection technology can be integrated into any OEM’s rejection system.
