Glue System Components

W. H. Leary offers two unique Glue Application solutions for box making. Please review the following options to get detailed information.

Jet88 Precision Gluing

The Jet88™ is a single head Precision Gluing System which will lay down a precise glue pattern while allowing the use of your existing glue. This saves you the additional cost of having to use a higher grade, non-contact extrusion glue. This system eliminates pinch point problems by using a roller guiding system to iron out and guide boxes through the gluing area.

The bracket configuration includes an easy release Jet™88 valve, trigger and optional glue scanner minimizing installation and set-up time. Without any tools, you can easily mount the valve for top-down or bottom-up gluing.  A unique, spring-loaded housing automatically adjusts the position of the valve to compensate for different board thicknesses.

Jet205TM Non-Contact Gluing

The Jet205™ is a non-contact glue application valve with a high level of accuracy and consistency.  Each glue line is individually controlled and may operate in a continuous or stitch-line mode.  Non-contact gluing enhances glue pattern flexibility and eliminates drag on the box which often causes skewing, With the Jet205™, you have more control of glue consumption while maintaining proper fiber tear.  It has a fast response time for pattern flexibility at high speeds and requires minimal set-up and maintenance time for increased efficiency.

This non-contact gluing station is capable of applying a wide range of adhesive viscosities.  The Jet205™ is ideal for applications where glue volume control and accuracy are required.

Waterflushing

For years, Leary valves have been kept clean by our unique water flushing system. This system allows you to keep your glue valves and hoses clean and eliminates line clogging.  This simple to use system will flush hoses and valves in a matter of seconds. This option will reduce maintenance time and significantly improve your system’s performance.

Glue Regulation Units

Model 21B GRU Video

Model 21B GRU

The 21B is an excellent tool to deliver a steady flow of glue through all speed ranges when using our non-contact or precision corrugated glue valve.  This automatic glue regulation unit will maintain consistent glue pressures at varying speeds. Additionally, as pressure reaches a critical mass, a dump valve is activated thus relieving pressure and re-directing excess glue back into the system.

This unit comes standard with a 2:1 regulator and may be upgraded to a 5:1 regulator, increasing flow capability.

Model 21C GRU Video

Model 21C GRU

The 21C delivers glue through normal to moderate speed ranges when using our corrugated gluing systems.  The GRU’s pressure control can be manually adjusted. As with the Model 21B, if the pressure reaches a critical mass, a dump valve is activated which relieves pressure and re-directs excess glue back into the system.

This unit comes standard with a 2:1 regulator and may be upgraded to a 5:1 regulator, increasing flow capability.

Pump Option

High Pressure 9:1 (For use with 5:1 or 2:1 Regulator)

Specify our 9:1 high-pressure pump if you are using glue in excess of 1,000 centipoise or if you are using several valves with extended hoses.  This extremely powerful piston pump will allow you to run head pressures up to 540 PSI.  We recommend using the Model 51B GRU with this pump.

4:1 Pump Video

High Pressure 4:1 (For use with 2:1 Regulator)

This piston pump comes standard with the Leary System. The 4:1 high-pressure pump is more than adequate with most commonly used corrugated contact and non-contact glue grades.  This powerful pump will deliver head pressures of up to 320 PSI.  We recommend either a Model 21B or Model 21C GRU for use with this pump.
